This is my new 2008 Jeep Patriot. I dig it.

Looks nice, but I have to admit, I'm a pickup man. And it has to be a stick shift.

That said, my truck is dead now, and I drive my wife's minivan. *sigh*

You sound like my Smart Man, although he's considering a Wrangler for this next ride.

I bought a manual for my last vehicle, because I wanted my Smart Boy to learn to drive a manual. I feel it's one of those life skills that all adults should have. However, he's got his license and his own wheels now (an automatic - his choice).

This time I bought exactly what I wanted - an automatic Jeep.

P.S. Shawn drives a mini-van, Shawn drives a mini-van, neener, neener, neener!

How's the mileage. We sent with a 4WD wagon instead of an SUV becuase of fuel consumption in the models we were considering.

John, it currently has 50 miles on it, so I can't really say what I'll get, but the literature indicates about 22/28, depending on transmission.

That's certainly not great, but I decided to live with it because I simply don't drive very much. I work from home full time, and now that my Smart Boy is driving himself where he needs to go, I only need to fill up every 3-4 weeks.

My Smart Man drives an Accord to and from his job, and if we need to make longer trips, we'll usually take the car. But we do live in Colorado - sometimes it's a good thing to have access to a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a higher clearance.

lol, as a product listening to 80s music, I tend to listen LOUDLY. It's slightly embarrassing to open the door at a gas station, and have AC/DC blaring, while having Hello Kitty coloring books in the dash.

Shawn, you paint an indelible mental picture. But is your mini-van black?

Heh. Shawn, I can one up you on that - I'll have AC/DC or Toby Keith blaring, and have Hello Kitty books in Japanese on the seat.

But my wagon is red, not black.

Sadly, my manliness factor goes down a little when I describe my wife's minivan as, "Seafoam Green" -- but alas, that's what it is. Or, "Metallic Seafoam Green" if you're nasty.

(Ha ha! Now a Janet Jackson song is going through your head! Neener neener neener right back at you, Janiece!)

Janiece said...

Sorry, Shawn, but Back in Seafoam Green just doesn't roll off the tongue. Just sayin'.

What Janet song? My library goes strait from Jamie Lidell to Jars of Clay.

Seriously? You didn't start singing, "Nasty"...

Shawn drive a minivan? Gah, my entire image is shattered.

Shawn, although I'm a fan of R&B, I tend to stay away from the Jackson clan, so no.

Jim, me too. Although Shawn's "Exciting Excitement" series gave me a whole new perspective on him and his sock puppet.
