Ouzo Gives Me Weird Dreams

Sunday, February 1, 2009
We went to our monthly Hot Chicks and Hot Men dinner last night at a Greek restaurant called Pete's.

The food was excellent, and at the end of the meal, the proprietor came over and provided us each a shot of Ouzo.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of licorice, anise or fennel. In fact, I think all those things taste rather nasty.

But I drank the shot with the rest of my compatriots in a stirring show of fellowship.

And subsequently had the weirdest dreams ever last night.

No more Ouzo for me.

But Janiece, I have a bottle awaitin' you! And remember, mine is the Real Thing smuggled in from Crete JUST FOR YOU!

But I suspect that it still tastes nasty.

Ouzo is supposed to give you weird dreams.

Try Sambuca, with coffee beans (3 beans, one for yesterday, today, and tomorrow). And you don't actually drink it, you just let it evaporate on your tongue.

And if you don't want yours from the Mechanicky Gal, I'll take it. Me! Pick me!

Jim, this is THE REAL STUFF! I bought in Crete and oops! It somehow got mixed up in my Household Goods and it showed up at my home!

Your display of fellowship was much appreciated. :)

And are you sure it was just the ouzo and not the additional lemondrop martinis that came afterwards?

I had a great time. Thanks again for inviting me! :D

Don't you just hate when that happens?
