Busy, Busy

I'm taking vacation days today and tomorrow, because I appear to be running out of time to GET THINGS DONE.

This weekend, I have my monthly family get-together on Friday night, the 3rd Annual Colorado Skepticamp (sign up today! 20 seats are still available!) on Saturday, and Mother's Day is Sunday, which will include brunch at the Fresh Fish Company and watching the new Star Trek movie. All fun activities, and I'm looking forward to all of them.

But I have a major paper due in a week, and I usually do homework on Saturdays. Since the paper constitutes 30% of my grade, I need to spend a decent amount of time on it to make sure I turn in a quality product.*

I also need to clean the fish tank before the inhabitants evolve and/or mutate into land-based animals and try to join us at the dinner table, and several other chores that I've been procrastinating on because I'm a lazy git.

This Spring is turning out to be far more hectic than I prefer, but since all the activities are things I enjoy (school, SmartTwin graduation, San Diego Girls Weekend, etc.) I'd feel like a completely ungrateful whiny-butt if I complain about them. So I'll be thankful that I'm busy in a good way, and enjoy this time while it lasts.

*It also requires a literature review, and if there's anything on this planet that I hate more than Brussels sprouts, it's literature review. I can't believe I'm using a vacation day so I can do a literature review. Adulthood SUCKS.

I agree that adulthood sucks. At least sometimes it sucks. But I actually like Brussels sprouts. Enough that I sometimes make them the entire meal. I don't mind literature reviews either. Yeah, I'm a bit off that way.

Best of luck with all your work stuff and cleaning stuff and school stuff and attempts at stopping fish evolution.

Go Janiece! You will do a fabulous job, I'm sure. :D

And because I'm sure I'll forget later. Happy Mother's Day. You deserve to have heaps of accolades. (SmartSon, I hope you realize this!)

When I lived in my old apartment, every three or four years I would take a vacation week just to clean. I'd devote a day to a different room and get in all the nooks and crannies that I otherwise forgot about. Mainly because I wasn't a very good housekeeper and that was my way of trying to keep things at an acceptable level of clean.

So don't feel bad about taking a vacation day for a literature review. It could be worse.

Vince, there is obviously something seriously wrong with you.

Were you prehaps dropped on year head as a child? Or forced to eat things like dirt or poo or vomit that would make brussel sprouts look good in comparison?

Thanks for not burning the place down while I was gone, y'all.

I had a very productive day, and a pretty good one (until we noticed the muffler on the SmartBoy's new Hooptie was hanging on by a thread. Another trip to the mechanic this afternoon...).

I only managed to do the outline for the paper, so tomorrow I really am going to be "heads down."

And Anne? The clothes you helped me pick out were FABULOUS. Thanks!
