Boogie Blogging Friday - Squirrel Hunting Edition

Friday, September 4, 2009

That squirrel is mocking me. It is evil, and must be destroyed.

I shall rest here underneath the maple tree. Eventually, the squirrel will come down, and I will teach it a lesson it shall not soon forget. Bwahaha.

So sleepy...

The squirrels in our neighborhood are in very little danger from Boogie, the Great Hunter of Parker.

I'm not sure 'Great' applies to Boogie, Janiece. He's had to have killed at least 3 other animals to rate that honorific; perhaps 'Mighty' is more accurate.
Now at my house the only certified killer is our cat. He has contributed more corpses to the earth than Billy the Kid so his full name is, " The Exalted Patches, Scourge of Rodentia, Terror of the Avian World, Guardian of the Royal Angie's Lap"

So how about;
Boogie, "The Mighty Hunter of Parker"

That has a nice ring to it. :)

John, Boogie really isn't even a "hunter," let alone a mighty or great one.

Well, all that hunting tuckered him out, I mean, that's hard work!

He is Boogie, Great Hunter of Snackies!

And very cute to boot.

I have no doubt Boogie is simply luring the squirrels into a sense of complacency to lower their defenses. A master tactician's stratagem!

Ann has it spot on.
He has shown a great deal of interest in the ground around that tree since I have been here at the yellow house...wonder what smells are causing the attraction?

Randomly, some time later: The waiting under trees tactic does work for some dogs. My Great Hunter Anita (short for Anita Puppy Like Anita Hole Inna Head) uses it all the time, to lethal effect. She also digs up moles, catches mice and rats, kills snakes, and has dispatched at least one full-grown possum.

Sweetest dog I know. Part Rottweiler, part terrier, part kissy-face. Just know that the licky tongue is attached to mighty jaws that strike fear in the hearts of every varmint in town.

Captcha oldis: she's turning 10 this year.
