Why are there still so few women in science? An excellent question, and speaking as a 30 year female STEM professional, the answer is both depressing and hopeful.

You all know how I despise bullies, and standing up to them is always the right thing to do. Which is why I love Caitlin Seida's sensibility and courage so very much.

Ezra Klein provides a thoughtful look at unintended consequences and systemic failure as it pertains to our government. Thoughtful, and fucking depressing as hell. I love my country, but I'm starting to think our political systems needs a reboot, and not as it pertains to the 2nd Amendment.

My shippie Jim over at Stonekettle Station gave me some chuckles with his description of his hate mail and the velociraptor associated consequences. Clearly my detractors need to drink a better brand of hateraide for my personal amusement.

It's been a good week for music this week, what with me "discovering" Pentatonix and Peter Hollens. But here's my favorite, with a wave of the beard to Laura who pointed it out:

I love that song and that rendition is particularly beautiful. Thanks for posting it!
ZOMG. I went to Amazon's MP3 store and searched for Peter Hollens. I listened to a few clips and jeez, that guy has an amazing voice. (Puts me in mind of Josh Groban, who also is a stunning vocalist.)
Odd, my health insurance went down about 5% last year, according to the collecting agent it was because of ACA.
Insurance is very different this year, Medicare, so it is apples to aardvarks to compare
PTX is awesome. Did you watch them doing "The Dog Days Are Over" on the Sing Off?
Welcome, Techwiz.
I don't watch the Sing Off. I like the music, but the blatherations of the judges makes my teeth hurt.
Hi There! Random Blogger blog day for me I guess.
I think that performance is one of their very best. I don't watch any TV because of the 'blatherations'. Found it on youtube and I hope you'll look it up.
Which performances stood out to you? They have been busy since their appearance on the Sing Off and I haven't kept up with their output.
I liked the cover of "Radioactive" they did with Lindsey Stirling.
