I have no earthly reason to love this video so much. But I do. I suspect anyone who wasn't one of the "cool kids" during their younger years probably feels the same.
Because the song is awesome, is the reason why. But I have to admit I like the "unofficial" version of the video, with the lyrics appearing over brightly-monochromed backgrounds, to the "official" version.
When Eric posted this one I immediately burned it to CD -- the only thing I really try to be careful about is when I'm driving around in traffic. Being stopped at a light with it cranked up to about 7000 decibels, next to a mother with her three grade-schoolers, might be imprudent. Fun, but imprudent.
I love the catchy tune but the lyrics have never sat totally right with me - then I heard the parody response video from Whitney Avalon and fell in love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwR_jZPMe6g&feature=player_embedded
Although I really do love me some Gnarls Barkley/Cee-Lo usually :).
I am a Hot Chick living in Castle Rock, CO with my fabulous family. We have a rescue dog named "Jackson," and she's a Basenji/Shepherd mix. She's something of a head case, but we love her. I'm a U.S. Navy vet, and I currently work as an Enterprise Solutions Architect, specializing in VoIP and multimedia contact center design. I care about social justice, libraries, science, the U.S. Constitution and the military. I'm a tax and spend liberal in a largely red county, but I try not to be stabby about it. I knit for charity. Stupidity, cupidity and wanton assholery piss me off, and I'm more than a little soft when it comes to dogs and those who serve others. I blog about whatever I feel like. I use foul language, so if that sort of thing offends you, feel free to fuck off now - if I'm unwilling to clean up my language for my fabulous Great Auntie Margie, I'm unlikely to do so for you. Newcomers are welcome here, especially those who disagree with me, but trolling and spamming will be met with the Shovel of Doom™.

Still, any excuse to pimp the tune!

Thanks Janiece. I had never heard this, but now can't get it out of my head. And that is a good thing! I think I will make it my motto today.
