Wait until the followers are finished before you transplant. Blooms are plant sexy-times, and would you like to be moved during sexy-times?

Usually by Fall I've completely lost my motivation. And my energy.
My Mom used to grow iris very much like those you've pictured. Over the years, the same bulbs produced petals that had less and less purple until the petals looked as though Mom had taken a fine ball point pen and drawn fine lines all around the edges of the petals. They were so lovely. Wonder if yours will do the same?
IllanoyGal, I dug these up along with the rest of the iris under the big Maple. They were choking the shit out of each other. But they basically have looked the same for the last ten years.
