A Word of Thanks
Terry and I wanted to thank everyone who called, texted, e:mailed, sent private messages on Facebook and otherwise sent their condolences at the loss of our beloved Boogie.
While these things are never, ever easy, it's comforting to have friends and family who understand and share our grief not only for his loss, but also know how hard it is to be forced to make such decisions for our four-legged family members.
I don't know when we'll return to regularly scheduled content here at Hot Chicks Dig Smart Men - as you can imagine, I don't really feel much like writing non-Boogie related content right now. Thanks for bearing with us at this difficult time.

I'm really bad at condolences. But I'm really good at hugs. So if a virtual hug is a thing, I've got lots for you guys. We're all here for you if you need anything. I know that goes without saying, but I don't really know what else to say. (See, I'm not good at this...)
You did eleven years of good things for Boogie, even the hard ones. Of course it will take some time to recover. Not, of course, that you need my permission for anything. I miss Boogie myself, and I never met him.
Being an atheist, I can't say anything consoling about him frolicking with Grendel, but I'm thinking about them both, and about you and Terry.
Phiala, if anyone deserves an afterlife, it's our good, good dogs.
And thank you.
If I believed in reincarnation, I'd think that being one of our dogs was the afterlife, a reward for an exemplary life before that one.
Word.
