Attention, Gullible Parents

Vaccination does not cause autism.

NOT vaccinating your child could result in their death, as well as the death of members of the population who cannot be vaccinated due to other medical conditions.

Jenny McCarthy and her ilk believe they are not subject to a reality-based world, and are trying to convince you to join her on Fantasy Island.

But the diseases that will run through our population reside firmly in reality, and don't give a shit about her and her anti-science point of view. They'll just make your kids sick.

SO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT VACCINATING YOUR KIDS.

Get an informed, science-based opinion before you decide to risk the health of your kids, and the health of the other children in your community.

Because following the advice of dumbshits like Ms. McCarthy is simply criminal.

Hey I want my Polio-ridden child to be fully able to understand the horror of their disease. Just because the chances of my child "getting" autism from a vaccine is less likely than a piano falling on them in the doctor's office is not a reason to think it can't happen!

Famous people know EVERYTHING! I'm surprised you didn't know that. Oh wait, you're not famous, so of course you don't know. Poor, poor thing you.

:D

That's me - a member of the reality-based unfamous.

And yet, I'm strangely content with my lot.

Nope, nope, nope, not doin' it. Not gettin' involved.

C'mon, John. You know you want to.

NO!

Besides, I have an ulterior motive. Ask me in the other place.

Janiece said...

Oh, I think I know your ulterior motive.

I just like poking you with a stick.

I was just looking up entry requirements for job corps (one of them being voluntary participation, dammit) and they require shot records as a condition of participation. ;)

Bizarre, actually... first time I've seen vaccination records be required for something that's an adult, but not international, activity.

I dunno, I had to get my shots up to date for grad school, and usually grad students count as adults ... uhh, don't they? o.O

Virtually all colleges require vacinations and shots to be current by the time the little darlings hit the doors of higher learning.

But, hey, if you haven't vacinated your kid, they probably won't get that far...

I know, Natalie. Orac can handle this one.

We had a name for people like Janiece when I was in high school.

Started with "I" and ended with "nstigator". :p

But I bet she can get Jim all riled up if she mentions Whooping Cough vaccines. :D

Shawn Powers said...

Yeah...

Whooping cough, definitely whooping cough.

Definitely.

K-Mart sucks.

Janiece said...

JTS, I have no idea what you're talking about.

None.

Falala! ::skip, skip::

I think adults who refuse vaccinations should be air dropped into a third world country where vaccines simply aren't available.

Keep 'em from ruining herd immunity for everyone else.
