Demento Dog has joined us again this week. His human had to leave town unexpectedly due to a death in the family, so I'm being treated to Demento Dog II -The Staredown.
I have met Demento Dog now and can attest to the fact that Janiece has not exaggerated The Eyes.
My first impression, however, was not the staring, but that he is a little capsule of boundless energy (probably because he was greeting his owner). Thus, I dubbed him Hummingbird Dog. This is, of course hard to see in the photos.
I think the other photo was more disturbing just because it looked like his eyes were pointing ever so slightly in different directions. I can only see a hint of that in this one.
Weird... one minute I was looking at your blog, Janiece, and next thing I knew I'd lost three hours and blown out a credit card on dog treats and rubber bones. What the hell...?
I should probably call a doctor because... it's kinda scary to miss time... like that and I hope I haven't had a stroke or something... but what I really want to do is take a certain Jake-doggie-woggie for a weally fast dwive wif all the windows down. (Where the hell are my car keys?) Who's a good boy? Yes he is. Yes he is. Fast drive and bewwy wub and lotsa lotsa tweats, yes we will.
I am a Hot Chick living in Castle Rock, CO with my fabulous family. We have a rescue dog named "Jackson," and she's a Basenji/Shepherd mix. She's something of a head case, but we love her. I'm a U.S. Navy vet, and I currently work as an Enterprise Solutions Architect, specializing in VoIP and multimedia contact center design. I care about social justice, libraries, science, the U.S. Constitution and the military. I'm a tax and spend liberal in a largely red county, but I try not to be stabby about it. I knit for charity. Stupidity, cupidity and wanton assholery piss me off, and I'm more than a little soft when it comes to dogs and those who serve others. I blog about whatever I feel like. I use foul language, so if that sort of thing offends you, feel free to fuck off now - if I'm unwilling to clean up my language for my fabulous Great Auntie Margie, I'm unlikely to do so for you. Newcomers are welcome here, especially those who disagree with me, but trolling and spamming will be met with the Shovel of Doom™.

I CAN HAZ ILIDZ?
I'd rather be stared at by Demento Dog than read about the schmucks in your previous post.
:(
You said it, sister.

Hi Jake!

Anne is correct.
When Jakey see his human (hereafter referred to as "SmartFriend"), he jumps straight up into the air so that he looks SmartFriend in the eye.
SmartFriend is over 6' tall.
He's doesn't look quite as demented in that photo. Such a cutie!
I love the way that Jake looks. If I ever get a dog again, I want one like like him.
Vince, SmartFriend may give him to you, if you're willing to come and get him.
Okay, probably not.
I love Jake. My family loves Jake.
O.O
Shawn, I'll admit that he's a better dog than he used to be. Age has mellowed him.
So I don't mind when he comes to visit for a bit.
Plus, we'd pretty much do anything for SmartFriend, so even if Jake turned into Jack-Jack and spontaneously combusted, we'd probably watch him anyway.

He's a cutie though, even if a demented cutie. :)
(I'm here because of Michelle, blame her.)
O.O
I know, he looks like those eyeballs in teh Geico commercial...

He'd just have to sleep in the tub.

Erin, you're welcome here.
And Michelle, I was thinking more of the poor baby-sitter chasing Jack-Jack around the house with the fire extinguisher...
And the fact that I can find Incredibles references here explains why I like you guys so much. ;)

(Help.)
I so like cats.
But it's wonderful to have friends for whom you would do anything.
Welcome, Susan.
I'm not really a cat person, although I don't think they're evil or anything.
Just not my cup of tea.
Doggie!
Janiece, those eyes, they follow me everywhere.
And Shawn has it as the background on his computer?!?!?!
Thanks, Janiece.
Heh, I had the same happy thought as Anne C. about the Incredibles reference. Also:
O.O
Tania, I know!
By Day 4, this little dog is totally freaking me out.
