"Is it ironic if I give you an, "Amen, sister!" Because, you know, amen, sister."
Eric, you get a week's supply of "win" covered in "awesome sauce" for your superlative efforts. All hail Eric!

I think that comment would qualify him as a deity. You? :D
I just woke up from a nap a little while ago and maybe I'm still a little groggy. I read that as him commenting on your post about "agnostics and athletes". I know I would have remembered if there had been a post here about a post-game interview in which some player said, "God didn't have nothing to do with it. I picked up that damn ball and I ran the shit out of it."
Nathan, that would be the best post-game interview ever.
The only way it might be improved would be if the athlete added, "And if there is a God, I hope He was saving some babies from a tsunami or something instead of watching the frickin' Super Bowl."
So actually I don't think there's truly anything ironic about using the term amen.
It's a Hebrew word that means "so be it" or "truly" which makes perfect sense in the context of the conversation.
The fact that everyone else takes it solely in a religious sense without knowing the meaning of the word is not Eric's fault.
Killjoy.
Sorry. :)
Is it my fault I know so much worthless information?
Oh. Wait. It is. Nevermind.
Michelle, just one of the many reasons we like you.
