Actually, I heard some of the details last night and spent a bit of time thinking out it.

First of all, it's horrific that he beat her. If that he true then he SHOULD lose his advertising deals, because that type of behavior is unacceptable.

Secondly, what caught my attention was that she was continuing to work with investigators. In so many domestic violence cases the abused individual will work with police and first, and then drop the charges or back out of change their story or whatever.

Domestic abuse is enough of a continuing problem in this country that I am always glad to see someone stand up to their abuser. If even one woman hears about this case and thinks, "if she can walk away, I can too" then I'm glad for the press it's getting.

And good for the advertisers for dropping him like a steaming pile of poo. We need a no-tolerance stand for domestic abuse.

Michelle, I agree that it takes guts to stand up to an abuser, and I'm glad her family whisked her away and is encouraging her to cooperate with police.

The real "Who Cares" here is that he's lost his endorsement gigs.

What a shame.

But it seems to me that's an *excellent* thing. That an abuser cannot be a spokesperson.

I'm sorry - I'm not being clear.

It is a good thing. I mean I have no sympathy for Mr. Brown. As in, Who Cares what affect his losing his endorsements has on his life.

I certainly don't.

I've seen Rihanna interviewed several times, she strikes me as a tough, but smart chick that isn't going to put with any crap. That she continues to work with investigators speaks volumes on her strength of character.

I hope she realizes the impact working to have him prosecuted will have on people her age that find themselves in similar situations. She could be the one that steps up and leads the charge to say ENOUGH!

Good luck to her. I like a lot of Rihanna's music too (Shut up and Drive is one of my favorites).

As for him, you know my solution...put him under the jail!!

Ah. So we were really talking about the tiny violin of false sympathy, rather than caring. :)

Because I DO care, because I think it's a GOOD thing.
