Wall of Shame - August 1, 2010

"Hey! Look at me! I'm totally parking in a handicapped parking space without a placard, but guess what? It's okay, because I'm waiting in the car!"

Guess what, driver of the Honda minivan, license plate 076-ENN, parked in the handicapped spot in front of the Parker, CO Safeway on the corner of Main and Parker on August 1, 2010 at 6:45 p.m.? It's not okay. It's against the law, and doing so makes you a huge ASSHOLE. And you know what makes this even more egregious? The fact that you chose to exhibit this behavior while your kids were in the car.

Yeah, nice job, douchebag.

Hey thanks for posting that!! As a mother of a severly handicapped child, who drives a big hoobie wheelchair van to get my baby places I encounter idiots like that all the time. Just shelfish of them!! Sometimes they even park on my lift side and only leave me two freaking feet to put the lift down. So they better not bitch at me when they find the side of thier car scraped up, or the air out of thier tires.

Welcome, FiddleKat.

I don't have anyone in my family who requires a handicapped spot, but I do have friends who fall into that category. For some reason this really pisses me off, so I decided to do something about it.

Please don't damage someone's vehicle is you feel that would be appropriate punishment.Someone could be borrowing their aunt or moms car and abusing her tag and she's the one who pays.

Louise, none of my comments here or elsewhere would suggest that I would "damage" someone's car as a result of them parking illegally. And only cars that do NOT have tags (but are parked in disability parking spaces) receive the Wall of Shame.

Not sure of your point, here.

Janiece,I'm so sorry. You are correct.Im not referring to you.I love your wall of shame and must have thought I was posting on "don't park here" and posted on your website instead. Although my comment wasn't directed at anyone in particular,it does seem directed at you and for that I wholeheartedly apologize.I love what you write.Just chalk it up to someone with severe RA that misses,as well as double posts using these useless fingers.I was on the "exposing people who park in handicap spaces" FB page and kept reading posts about mean things done to people with no cards or plates posted as well as other actions taken because the owner posted a placard but didn't look handicapped enough.I speak from experience when I state that most people with disabilities try not to call attention to that by camouflaging the best they can when they move.Even tho I do display, my car is repeatedly vandalized.I feel it has to do with it being a little BMW as most of the real vicious post usually pertain to sports cars, etc, like Disable peeps can't own them.I hate seeing folks abuse the spaces very much as well but am against confrontation.Again, please accept my apologies as they were definitely not intentionally meant for your great site.Thanks.

De nada, chica.

I don't think it's up to me to decide which disabilities rate the tag, or to judge people's disabilities by the type of car they drive. Both of those things fall firmly in the "nunya" category, as far as I'm concerned.

Messing with people's cars because they park illegally (or legally, in your case) is a dick move, no doubt.
