'Tard of the Week - McCain Campaign

Monday, September 29, 2008
This week's 'tard is none other than the McCain campaign, because they apparently lack the ability to tell time.

On Friday, September 26th, the McCain campaign released the ad you see in this screen shot, taken on Friday at 10:16 a.m. Now I'm not saying having your materials prepared ahead of time is a Bad Thing - fortune favors the prepared. But typically, the competent media department holds those materials until after the event to avoid an embarrassing "Dewey Defeats Truman" moment.

Of course, there's always the possibility that the McCain campaign really has a time machine, and could thus determine ahead of time who won the debate. But then their posting of this ad caused a paradox shift, and ended up making their candidate look like a complete tool.

Boy, won't I be embarrassed if that turns out to be true. Egg on my face and all that.

'Tards.

Oh, c'mon, give 'em a break! They had to do something to reward their guy for showing up! Senator McCain is a winner every day. And even if he tries really, really hard and still doesn't come in first place in November, we should all keep in mind that the only people who aren't winners are the ones who don't participate at all!

This self-esteem message is brought to you by the letters "T," "A," "R," and "D," and by the number "2."

Heh. Dewey Defeats Truman indeed.

I'll bet you even money they've got the headlines for the post-election morning already done up: McCain Defeat Obama!

Then again, in neo conservative circles, history is indeed what you say it is, if you say it long enough and loud enough - which is why so many of them still believe in Creationism and the steady state theory of global environmentalism. :)

Jim,

You just dumped a short story in mm head of McCain losing the election, and the neocons refusing to admit it and showing up to move in, in January.

Too bad I have to teach in 50 minutes.

No typo, Mom. This made John McCain look like a tool.

Apparently, the McCain campaign has the same problem with names they do with telling time. I think you'll love this.
