Loot! Loot! LOOT for ME!

Monday, October 20, 2008
Today brought the first batch of my killer sale yarn from my trip to San Diego to visit the Mechanicky Gal. This box contained six pounds, and there's still ten more coming my way.

I have a box of jam for her and the Mechanicky Guy, but I'm a big slacker and haven't gotten over the Post Office yet.

This came on a good day for me - for some reason I'm feeling a bit stabby today, and this cheered me up.

Thanks, Mechanicky Gal!

Stabby? Must be all the Wagner interactions. Don't worry. Your adherents will stick with you.

Nathan, my adherents have no choice, since Anne got in on the act with her industrial tube of super-glue.

Janiece, that's what acetone is for! Sure, it burns like a sonovabitch, but it gets the job done.

Not that I'd want to stop adhering to you...

Is that ten more pounds or ten more boxes?

Ten more pounds. Even I'm not that prolific.

My return to the knitting fray has so far not been illustrious - I have about an 1" x 10" of uneven and lumpy stockinette stitch to show for it.

But I'm glad you got your yarn and that it is therapeutic! I baked the brownies I've been wanting for several days. :D

Mmmmm brownies. Which has me thinking maybe I'll make cookies today in my spare time.

I still think you need to read Panopticon. :)

And my grandmother re-appropriated my scarf and hat. :) She's been complaining about her winter hat being older than I am.

Glad you got your yarn. Roughly how big is a 6-pound bundle of yarn? I'm trying to picture how much that would be and I don't have any real frame of reference.

Michelle, would your Gram like a hat and scarf of her own? What colors does she like?

I did read Panopticon for a while, and while it's moderately humorous, it didn't grab me hard enough for me to keep it. Tomato Nation is the same way.

Matt, each of the skeins in the photo are one pound. They're 12 inches wide, and 17 inches in diameter.

Ah, I'll have to check when I get home then. The lovely new secturity thingie at work has labeled your photo as pornography, and therefore I cannot look at it. Apparently it also thinks about half the avatars are porn too, because I'm only seeing yours, Michelle's and mine.

Hot yarn-on-yarn action!

Yeah, those skeins of yarn are dirty, dirty pr0n.

Gotta love the nanny-ware.

Oh, the question I forgot to answer--I think she's more than pleased with my hat. (laugh)

She tends to get cranky when people buy things for her, so we frequently have "extra" things lying around.
