Fabulous Customer Service (Gasp!)

Thursday, March 13, 2008
I've been struggling for the last week or so with the "recent comments" widget here at Hot Chicks Dig Smart Men. I had the code embedded, but it wouldn't populate.

After fucking around with it for a few days, I sent a note to Blogger Buster, asking for their assistance with the code.

Well.

Shortly after contacting them, I received a note from Amanda. She had checked and tested the code, and provided it for me to cut and paste into the page element.

I tried that, and it didn't work.

So I sent another note to Amanda, telling her my troubles, and she again responded quickly, providing new code that was not "malformed" by word-wrap.

I tried that, and voila! Hot Chicks and Smart Men Speak is back in business!

What makes this experience even more pleasant is that the code and tech support provided by Blogger Buster is free. They didn't have to help me - they would of been perfectly justified in telling me, "Hey, sister, it's free. Piss off." But they didn't. They helped me until I had a resolution.

Thanks, Amanda. Thanks, Blogger Buster. You could teach the big guys a thing or two about customer service.

Yeah, I've tried twenty things before trying to post there and then, bam, they actually respond quickly with understandable info. Who'd-a-thunk-it?

It always makes my day when I have a good customer service experience.

That's pretty sad, huh?

Just thank your lucky stars you didn't have to call Nokia.

Bastards.

Cindi, does your phone still have the whacky?

Jim's having trouble with his broadband service this week, too, so I thought I'd give a shout out to (apparently) the only tech company that is currently providing good customer service.

Phone's okay - for now.

The problem is recurring, and affecting everyone, so at least I don't have to keep calling, they are aware.

Now, whether they CARE or not is another story, I'm sure.

Bastards.

It does seem like the small entrepeneurial companies, that are passionate about what they do and motivated to build a clientele, provide the very best customer service.

That even seems to extend to some groups or individuals that provide service or support gratis, in the open source or freeware world.

I'm glad they were helpful to you!

I have a rant about my cell phone provider (now ex-provider) to write up at some point too... I just didn't want to post it too soon after my La-Z-Boy story.

Wow.

As someone who provides technical support, it's always good to be appreciated when something goes well.

And from a customer standpoint, I will never give up USAA insurance, even if it were more expensive, because they have the best customer service on the entire planet.

I'm trying to balance my Intertoobs screeching with positive stories, so I don't come across like someone who's trying to drive up readership by ranting about every little thing, you know?

Some things, like the hate-mongering bitch for Jesus, deserve to be screeched at, but I think there are plenty of folks out there who have earned some kudos, too.

Michelle, I love USAA, too. Been with them for 16 years, always good service. I knew people who worked there, and when I lived in San Antonio, my apartment was one freeway exit away from them.

Even now, 2,000 miles away, they're still my only bank. I'm a USAA groupie!

Not only are the fantastic for regular service, but when you need them, they bend over backwards to help you.

When the jerk busted our windshield, within an hour we had an appointment to get the windshield replaced. We showed up for the replacement, paid our deductible, and that's it.

Awesome.

Allstate is like that too. No amount of "you could be saving $423.17 by switching to [rival company]!" junk mail is going to make me switch elsewhere.

Hello Janiece,

Thank you so much for posting about Blogger Buster! I'm glad to know the widget now works for you and that you've found my site to be of help.

Best wishes,

Amanda

So Amanda's not only gracious and responsive, but a Hot Chick, as well!

Thanks again, Amanda!
