This year's Denvention III is going to be the coolest Con evah.
First because the Guest of Honor is Lois McMaster Bujold, and her Miles Vorkosigan books are some of my first favorites of all time.
Second because the Ghost of Honor is Robert A. Heinlein, and we all know how I feel about him.
Third because my friends John and Angie are driving in from Missouri to attend the Con with the Smart Man and I, and will be staying here at the Yellow House.
Fourth because I've just found out that the UCF total for this Con will be four, count them, four Hot Chicks!
Anne and I are both local, and have been planning on going for a while. Then Tania decided she was coming down from North Pole to attend with a friend of hers. And now Jeri has decided to come down and attend, and will be staying with fellow Hot Chick Anne!
How cool is that? FOUR UCF Hot Chicks in the same room.
I hope there's no embarrassing Hotness overload or anything, leading to Con evacuation or containment.
The UCF Benefactor, John Scalzi, will also be in attendance, and I know I want a photo of him with the UCF Hot Chicks. Perhaps we should warn him...

Sounds like so much fun...if only tuition didn't HAVE to be paid.(and you know..the little problem of geography) You guys are going to have a blast...make sure there are PICTURES!

We obviously have to make pins of ourselves that those attending can wear, so we'll be there in spirit, and so we can be in on the picture taken with Scalzi!
Michelle, not only would that let all of us be there in spirit, it would have the added benefit of making four particular folks look like utter dorks.

Re: Buttons - Actually, I'm thinking the geek factor's going to be high enough that a little dork isn't going to be outta place.
It *would* be super cool to do some kind of "twitter" blogging to let you guys in on the fun though. And I promise not to drink all the beer. ;)
(Tangent story, I went out with some co-workers for margaritas and finished mine before they did. I ended up being given half the lightweight's marg and I think by the end we all had the same degree of buzz (1.5=1.0=0.5). I attribute it to being single and therefore drinking more often and developing a higher tolerance.)
The Denvention should be a hell of a lot of fun! :D

I'm thinking screen printed crew neck tee shirts of the other UCF members. Worn with snug mom jeans, fanny packs and star trek communicator pins, of course. ;)
And, I'm sad to say, I'm a teetotaler. (migraine trigger) But I can act like an idiot with the best of them, regardless.
Actually, I'm thinking costumes - because we all have seamstresses and unlimited budgets, right? ;)

Yay! I am sooo looking forward to Denvention, and seeing you guys is a big part of it.
My roomie Cindy has had an dental thingy come up, which may preclude her from getting to Denvention. But I have a secret plan to get her there anyway. It involves her mom, who does love me best. After surviving the zombie uprising in Spokane last week, she needs a break, right?
I keep seeing "UCF Powers" in my email box, and I see another potential child name...
"My name is UCF, please don't mix up the letters, I've gotten in trouble for that before..."

I can tell this is going at least a 1000 times more fun than the only other scifi con I've ever been to (by myself!).
I'm willing to wear a UCF logo T-Shirt, but I look like hell in cargo pants, so I'm afraid Kara is out. Sorry, guys.

Jeri, Rose Tyler (the 1st companion of the newest incarnation) was not tacky! She was hot, smart, independent, and gave as good or better than she got from him a number of times. And got him to fall in love with her!
His second companion, Martha Jones, was also hot, a doctor, and damn near as good as Rose.
