Transcript from an IM conversation with my Hot Sister, who lives in a rural community. For some reason, this cracks me the hell up.
Hot Sister: Boy, they hate Obama out here in Redneck Central. Fucking ignats.
Janiece: I'll bet. Just another reason I prefer the city.
Hot Sister: The city makes me tense. I'm such a rube.
Janiece: The country makes me itchy, like I'm out of touch.
Hot Sister: Those are bugs.

You might be a redneck if chiggers are among your top 5 health concerns.
;)
Country boy here. Although I do appreciate being close enough to the city to get the amenities......like tsou dofu.
I can't decide which I am - small town girl or city cirl. I live in a small town, but I have absolutely no roots here. My work life and social life are all focused on the city - or on another city 1500 miles away.
I really enjoy it when I go to work downtown, except for the hellish 1.5 hr commute. I don't like driving in Seattle, though, or dealing with congested shopping, spendy housing, and the generally higher level of dirt & noise.
Maybe I just need to moor a boat halfway between. :)
I live in the city (old suburbs) because I like being 6 miles from work, but I grew up in the sticks, and when I don't have to work anymore (or work exclusively from home), I will probably move back out to the sticks.
Or onto a boat, like Jeri. :)
